Holy Week and the Triduum this year were extra special – the first one celebrated in Our Lady of Loreto Convent. We were blessed to continue our yearly tradition of attending the Palm Sunday Liturgy at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral with Bishop Jugis, following the example of Saint Clare who received a palm branch from the hand of her bishop on the before she decided to drop everything for Christ by following Francis. We enjoyed a beautiful Holy Thursday meal modeled after the Jewish Seder to celebrate the institution of the Holy Priesthood.  Good Friday was a day of recollected silence and prayer, and included our annual garden planting tradition, “hot cross buns,” the Good Friday Service of Our Lord’s Passion, Byzantine Vespers, and a beautiful Tenebrae service in conclusion. Holy Saturday was a full day of preparations for Easter up until the magnificent Easter Vigil Mass at our home parish, followed by an Easter celebration in our convent-kitchen. It was a joy to attend the early-morning Mass on Easter Sunday and to feast on a festive brunch–the first Easter brunch in our refectory!

We pray that you and your family experience the peace and joy of Christ’s Resurrection! May He grant you many  blessings through the hands of our Blessed Mother!

Alleluia! He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
